Preparing for the County Court Public Meeting

Objective: Finalize and assign the drafting of our letter to the Grant County Court for the July 22 public meeting. Briefly review action team progress and gather any new input.
I. Welcome & Purpose (3 minutes)¶
- Welcome and meeting objectives
- Ground Rule: Stay focused on actionable steps and the upcoming county deadline
II. Main Agenda: County Court Letter (40 minutes)¶
- Purpose: Discuss and outline the letter to the county court (due July 17)
- Content Focus:
- Demonstrate the level of community involvement and support for "Save Our Library"
- Summarize key findings and information gathered so far
- Outline actions we plan to take and the timeframes involved
- Present specific questions we need the county court to answer
- Drafting: Assign writing responsibilities and set internal review deadlines
- Supporting Materials: Identify any data, stories, or testimonials to include
III. Action Team Quick Reports (30 minutes)¶
- Team 1: Library District Research & Strategy – Updates, new findings, or needs
- Team 2: Building & Collections – Status of building negotiations, collection security
- Team 3: Foundation & Legal – Legal counsel, foundation readiness
- Team 4: Community Engagement & Fundraising – Outreach, fundraising, grant/donor updates
- Team 5: Operations & Budget – Staffing, budget, service planning
- Team 6: Technology & Communications – Website, volunteer coordination, communications
(Each team: 3-5 minutes max, focus on new info or urgent needs)
IV. Next Steps & Assignments (10 minutes)¶
- Confirm letter drafting timeline and responsibilities
- Set deadlines for any outstanding action team deliverables before July 17
- Plan for internal review and approval of the letter
V. Next Meeting Planning (2 minutes)¶
- Schedule next check-in (if needed before July 17)
- Confirm communication plan for sharing the letter and updates with the group
